Job Description
GENERAL STATEMENT OF THE FUNCTION
This position includes a variety of tasks involving the day-to-day operations of the STEM program. This position supports the STEM director in managing STEM program goals and objectives including but not limited to; scheduling of STEM student classes, entering data in several software programs, filing a variety of documents, and organizing and collecting data for a variety of reports.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
An undergraduate degree or an Associate of Applied Science Degree in Business and Office Technology with three or more years of business and office experience. Strong microcomputer skills and knowledge of computer operations; ability to perform at high levels of proficiency.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Excellent computer skills, especially in Microsoft Word, Colleague or similar database management software, PowerPoint, Excel, Access, Outlook, Internet software, and other software as required.
Ability to keep sensitive information confidential at all times.
Excellent communication skills, both spoken and written.
Excellent organization and time management skills.
Strong and pleasant telephone and interpersonal skills, with the ability to professionally and courteously manage internal and external customers and co-workers on the phone and in person.
The ability to take initiative, use good judgement, demonstrate a strong sense of urgency, and carry multiple projects through to completion.
Ability to meet multiple deadlines for submission of reports without reminders from supervisor.
Ability to work successfully without supervision.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Entering data, including student demographics and academic performance, in several software programs
- Filing a variety of documents
- Organizing and collecting data for a variety of campus-wide reports and questionnaires
- Maintaining and updating records of students and part-time summer faculty
- Managing expenditures of the STEM program budget
- Managing purchasing of equipment and supplies under federal funding requirements. Must gain and maintain current knowledge of federal funding purchasing rules and regulations
- Managing travel authorizations, expenditures and documentation for the program
- Maintaining inventory files
- Answering office phone, scheduling the directors appointments, and maintaining the directors calendar
- Creating charts and spreadsheets related to the faculty and class offerings
- All other duties as assigned

The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate, and the employee is occasionally required to perform job responsibilities in the outdoors and off site.
