Human Resource Generalist– F/T

Setauket & Dix Hills (Split week), NY

Since 1988 Alternatives for Children, a not-for-profit private school, has been at the forefront in providing educational experiences to a broad spectrum of children from across Long Island, offering special education programs for preschool children. We are currently seeking a full-time Human Resources Generalist to join our fast-paced HR dept, working in Setauket (2 days) and Dix Hills (3 days).

We require:

• Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred
• 2+ years progressive experience in all facets of Human Resources including Talent Acquisition/Recruitment essential
• PHR/SPHR preferred.
• Experience working for a non-profit organization in a school setting strongly preferred
• Experience with employee benefits, compensation and employee retention and full cycle recruitment
• Knowledge of State and Federal Laws
• ADP Payroll and HRIS competencies
• Excellent time management, leadership, multitasking, presentation & written and verbal communication skills
• Strong computer proficiency in MS Word and Excel.
