We are looking for a Financial Operations Analyst to lead procurement and AP processes for a growing technology department. If you have exceptional interpersonal skills and procurement experience along with a passion for engaged co-creation with peers, then we want to know more about you.
This exciting opportunity gives you the chance to:
- Bring your expertise in procurement and accounts payables for the purpose of optimizing ISS purchasing processes, with a focus on streamlining the whole purchase and payment lifecycle as well as promoting good procurement processes and awareness
- Build relationships with other departmental management staff, focused on understanding needs along with opportunities for improving processes
- Partner with other financial staff in developing key financial performance tools and share them with departmental stakeholders

Key Responsibilities:
Financial Analysis:
- Working as a member of the ISS Finance team, apply critical thinking and solution-finding skills to resolve fiscally related inquiries from finance staff by querying financial systems, analyzing written documentation, and working with contacts in the Procurement Service Center
- Investigate and identify inaccuracies in financial data, propose solutions to correct process or documents and prepare journal entry submissions to correct those inaccuracies.
Purchasing:
- Assists with planning and executing the day-to-day operations of the purchasing processes. Includes determining priorities among many various competing projects and timelines. Facilitates communication and setting expectations among all involved parties to ensure accurate completion of assigned tasks.
- Acts independently to analyze complex transactions and payment activity to determine whether they follow contractual regulations, terms and conditions, policies and procedures. Understands impact of purchasing, accounts payables and related transactions on the financial statements for ISS.
Accounts Payables:
- Completes invoice payment verification from the ISS department staff, ensuring valid and accurate justification for invoice payments
- Approves invoice payments based on appropriate verification, ensuring proper documentation, invoice information, PO alignment as well as correct payment against funding sources
Performance Metrics:
- Assists in the collection of metrics related to purchasing and accounts payables based on data available for the purchasing function in ISS Finance, using Marketplace and other university data as needed Assists in additional performance analytics efforts as they are needed
Work Location:
Hybrid – This position is eligible for a hybrid work environment. AMC OIT strives for a high-flex work environment, meaning although this role can predominately be executed effectively with a remote schedule, there may be instances where in-person meetings and/or activities are needed. There is no minimum or prescribed in-person requirement. The work schedule will be based around core working hours in Colorado Mountain Time.

Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
Professional
- Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor’s degree in business administration, finance, accounting or closely related field
- Substitution: A combination of education and related technical/paraprofessional experience may be substituted for the bachelor’s degree on a year for year basis.
- 1 or more years of finance and professional business operations experience
Senior Professional
- Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor’s degree in business administration, finance, accounting or closely related field
- Substitution: A combination of education and related technical/paraprofessional experience may be substituted for the bachelor’s degree on a year for year basis.
- 3 or more years of finance and professional business operations experience
Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.
Preferred Qualifications:
Professional
- Master’s degree in business administration, finance, accounting or closely related field
- Complex purchasing experience and accounts payable experience including: contract review and negotiation, purchasing of IT-related goods or services requiring consideration of multiple factors before proceeding with purchase
- Higher education experience at a professional financial operations level
- Demonstrated data analysis skills and knowledge using Excel, database or PowerBI
Senior Professional
- All of the above plus:
- 3 years complex purchasing experience and accounts payable experience including: contract review and negotiation, purchasing of IT-related (or other complex) goods or services requiring consideration of multiple factors before proceeding with purchase

Anticipated Pay Range:
The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established as $55,884 - $75,000.
The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. This position may be eligible for overtime compensation, depending on the level.
