Job Description

Job Title- SET-UP CUSTODIAN

Position Status- Full Time

Classification Title- Classified-12 m-Level IV

Work Location- Main Campus-3600 N. Garfield, Midland, TX

Job Summary- This position assists the faculty, staff and students of Midland College with set-up arrangements for college functions.

Required Qualifications

Experience in maintaining an organized warehouse
Knowledge of the operation of mechanical equipment
Must be able to read and understand written set-up instructions
Must be willing to work some evenings and weekends as necessary
Must possess a valid Texas Driver’s License, good driving record, and be insurable on Midland College’s insurance policy

Preferred Qualifications

Prior experience with furniture moving and/or scheduling

Essential Functions

Set-up tables, desks, and chairs for scheduled functions which may require overtime
Perform work requests as assigned in accordance with required deadlines
Must be able to schedule events and tasks in an orderly fashion
Must follow safety guidelines and utilize proper lifting and carrying techniques
Other duties as assigned

Physical Demands

Must be able to sit or stand for long periods of time
The person in this position needs to occasionally move or drive to other locations on and off campus
Use of manual dexterity
Capable of climbing stairs, balancing, stooping, and repetitive twisting
Must be able to bend, reach overhead, and lift/move equipment in excess of 90 pounds
The person in this position frequently communicates with others; must be able to exchange accurate information
Occasionally moves chairs or other movable furniture to set up for events
Duties indoors and some outdoors in various weather conditions
Ability to operate mechanical equipment
Ability to work extended hours and attend Midland College or community events
Ability to work extended hours, nights, weekends, and holidays as needed

Security Sensitivity- All Midland College positions are security-sensitive and subject to Texas Education Code §51.215, which authorizes the employer to obtain criminal history record information. An employment offer is contingent on completion of a satisfactory criminal background investigation.

Min Salary- $3,161.58 per month

Max Salary- $3,161.58 per month
