JOB DESCRIPTION:

· Full-time (40 hours/week)

· Remote worker, should live in the Bellevue-Issaquah vicinity of Washington State

· Reports to Development Director

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:

· $26-$28 per hour DOE

POSITION SUMMARY:

The essential role of the Partnerships & Events Coordinator is to first support the Development Team with event planning, execution, and evaluation for four main annual events and several smaller opportunities. Second, this position will work with the Development Director, Operations Team, and Programs Team to develop, implement, and grow a formal partnerships program for the many corporations, service organizations, and churches who seek to partner with us in effective ways that match their goals with our needs.

The ideal candidate for this position must be outgoing, intrinsically motivated, organized, detail oriented, and both skilled at and comfortable with interfacing with partners, donors, volunteers, and with the public. This is a full-time position, and standard hours are from 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. Hours may vary occasionally for special programs and events (including one on Thanksgiving and one that sometimes falls on July 4). This position currently works remotely, occasionally going into the office to support Programs and Operations staff or joining in-person Development Team or all-staff meetings and work sessions.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Events – Fundraising, Stewardship, Educational, Promotional, and Recruiting

· Work closely with Development Director to provide logistical, administrative, and leadership support for annual special events such as Leadership Summit, Recipe for Hope, Turkey Trot, small house parties, tabling, and other events.

· Research and facilitate contracts with speakers, vendors, and venues.

· Assist team members with sponsorship solicitation, management, benefits, and reporting.

· Coordinate event project management, including working with event planning team volunteers to ensure all planning pieces are completed in a timely manner.

· Monitor and stay within event budgets

· Manage the smooth execution of events, including the training and management of event volunteers.

· Conduct post-event evaluations and ensure proper record-keeping and documentation.

Partnerships – Corporations, Service Organizations, Churches, etc.

· Collaborate across departments to identify current organizational needs (volunteers, in-kind and financial donations, etc.).

· Identify past and current partners, as well as prospective partners.

· Develop an outreach plan and calendar, schedule and plan meetings to identify shared goals, educate, and develop relationships with partners.

· Increase engagement in the areas of volunteerism, in-kind donation drives, and financial donations from corporations, service organizations, churches, etc.

· Work with team to maintain calendar of partner engagement.

· Maintain detailed, accurate records for all current and prospective partners.

· Craft tailored partnership collateral and communications such as newsletter articles, social media posts, letters, and emails to promote partnerships program and nurture partner relationships.

· Work closely with our staff and contracted graphic designer to ensure a consistent voice to support our branding efforts.

· Actively participate in networking events to maintain a consistent flow of new partner prospects.

Additional Responsibilities

· Act as an ambassador for the Issaquah Food & Clothing Bank to help educate the community and grow our support base.

· Participate in all-staff events, including staff meetings and trainings.

· Assist the Development Team where needed, such as with gift receipt letters, bulk mailings, and other projects.

· Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Education/Experience

Associate or bachelor’s degree preferred, and minimum two years of related experience required. Experience working with a food pantry or non-profit is a big plus!

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Experience with planning, execution, troubleshooting, project management, and post-event evaluation for mid-to-large sized and complex events of multiple types.
  • Successful track record of building corporate partnerships.
  • Competency with general office equipment and proficient computer knowledge.
  • Competency with Microsoft Office (SharePoint, Teams, Word, Publisher, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook), database systems (CRM), contact management systems (MailChimp, etc.), and online reporting tools.
  • Knowledge of customer service and how to lead a team providing quality experiences.
  • Ability to organize, set priorities, and meet deadlines with a high attention to detail.
  • Ability to lead and motivate volunteers.
  • Ability to exercise good judgment and discretion; maintain confidentiality of clients, donors, co-workers, and agency.
  • Ability to relate well to individuals of all backgrounds and socio-economic levels.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with clients, partners, donors, volunteers, vendors, and coworkers (verbally and in writing).
  • Ability to work independently with a minimum of supervision while employing effective time-management skills.
  • Ability to maintain a flexible schedule, including being able to work evening, weekend, and some holiday hours as needed with advance notice.
  • Valid WA State driver’s license.

VALUABLE ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:

· Event planning certification(s)

· Bilingual (especially Spanish, Mandarin, Russian, or Ukrainian).
