Enterprise Application Services (EAS) is in the Office of Information Technology (OIT) division at North Carolina State University. EAS is responsible for the design, implementation, operation, enhancement & maintenance of the University’s enterprise business applications. This includes: development, operation & maintenance of all enterprise administrative systems (Advancement, Financials, HR, Portal and Student Information Systems, etc.), configuration management, maintenance, enhancements, and application integration.
Essential Job Duties
This position has a high degree of either functional business process understanding or high technical solutions development skills.
Primary duties of the Student Systems IT Analyst/Programmer include, but are not limited to the following:

- Developing and maintaining the Student Information System (SIS).
- Working with the IT Manager, Project Lead, Team Members, and Functional Offices in order to implement moderate to advanced enterprise application development projects at NC State University with minimal supervision.
- Testing new development and production issues and providing timely feedback to developers.
- Serving as an analyst on the Student Information System Applications Development Team.
- Possessing a strong understanding of the PeopleSoft Student Information System.

Minimum Education and Experience
- Master’s degree and at least two years of relevant experience OR
- Bachelor’s degree with at least three years of relevant experience OR
- An equivalent combination of education, training and relevant experience
Degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
Other Required Qualifications
- Ability to independently, quickly, and efficiently identify and solve system problems that can impact a large number of customers.
- Ability to combine strong system knowledge with a strong understanding of customer requirements to offer customer solutions to problems in a very practical, timely and efficient manner. Customer service skills are critical.
- Strong organizational and communication skills are essential.
- Thorough understanding of the project development life cycle, including but not limited to application analysis, development, testing, documentation, approval and post migration validation.
- Attention to detail and ability to form strong relationships between team members, customers, and management is essential.
Preferred Qualifications
- ERP PeopleSoft system development or system analysis experience.
- Student Information System experience is preferred.
- Experience with Oracle SQL.
