Position Description:

The Human Resources Coordinator is a generalist who will play a critical role in executing essential administrative and operational people priorities. The role will administer and translate databases, reporting, payroll, and HR systems to enhance WPA’s data management. The role will also be a resource for team member inquires. The role will create/edit company documents, policies, processes, trainings, and procedures to strengthen organizational infrastructure, employee relations practices, compliance, and people design.

The Human Resources Coordinator will be highly organized, technically savvy, adaptable, and enjoy collaborating on the construction of tactical practices that define optimal organization policies, structures, systems, and collateral.

Responsibilities:

  • Process new hires, changes, and terminations in HRIS system, including I-9 authentications and IT assets management.
  • Respond to staff inquiries regarding benefits, payroll, onboarding/ off-boarding, ATS, HRIS, LMS in partnership with PEO as well as company- related questions regarding people practices.
  • Work with Professional Employment Organization (PEO) to approve payroll and ensure compliance and team competence with payroll processes.
  • Create reports, custom forms, and summarize details to measure data to help create better data-driven decisions.
  • Create and maintain company records.
  • Recruitment support, including assisting in the creation of job descriptions, posting on job boards, tracking candidate data, phone screenings, managing jobs email box, interview scheduling, and offer letters preparation.
  • Manage 403B program, oversee weekly 403 data entry duties, manage the TPA relationship, as well as HR vendor partnerships and management.
  • Assist in the preparation of SOP’s and training resources for teams.
  • Maintain the company organizational chart and staffing report ongoing maintenance.
  • Assist in the evaluation and editing of current documents, programs, and processes to enhance the people experience throughout the employee lifecycle.
  • Research and draft company-wide policies.
  • Manage internal HR Intranet consisting of shared folders, updating forms and processes as needed.
  • Conduct Exit Interviews; analyze and report on data.
  • Create communications with teams regarding HR initiatives.
  • Partner on the investigation and documentation of Employee Relations cases.
  • Manage the workflow, content and administer annual Performance Reviews, mange compliance.
  • Help manage the administration of the NYC Human Resources Administration.
  • Partner on HR Projects, such as creating and introducing a new Rewards and Recognition program.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of Human Resources experience in a culturally diverse workforce, preferably in the non-profit sector.
  • Must have extensive eperience with with HRIS, ATS, and other database management software required.
  • Must have 403 knowledge.
  • Must enjoy administrative and working within tight deadlines.
  • Must have strong technical experience.
  • Must have strong record keeping, data management, and documentation skills.
  • Must have strong data collection, data entry, and reporting agility.
  • Must be highly organized, process driven, detail oriented, solution oriented, and able to work under pressure while managing conflicting priorities and meeting/coordinating both short and long-term deadlines.
  • Ability to identify problems, formulate an appropriate action plan and properly execution of a solutions.
  • Must enjoy constructing policies, trainings, procedures, company documents, etc.
  • Proficiency in Excel, Powerpoint, Word, and Outlook, Sharepoint, One Drive, Teams.
  • Familiarity with Federal, State and local laws.
  • Occasional travel to Manhattan or Brooklyn office to complete I-9 authorizations may be required.
  • Strong written, verbal, and training interpersonal skills.
  • Must have professional maturity and maintain confidentiality around all employee records.
  • Must believe in WPAs mission, with a passion to serve underserved populations.
  • A keen perception of the racial, gender, and socioeconomic dynamics of underservedcommunities, with a particular familiarity with issues facing systems-involved women.

Compensation:

Compensation is hourly/ non-exempt $41.21 ($75,000 annually based on a 35-hour work week) -commensurate with education and experience. WPA offers a competitive benefits package including health insurance, employer paid dental insurance, extremely generous paid time off, 403(b) and paid leave.
