The Program Impact Manager serves the Institute for Trustworthy AI in Law and Society (TRAILS), the Artificial Intelligence Interdisciplinary Institute at Maryland (AIM), and the University of Maryland Institute for Advanced Computer Studies (UMIACS). Initially, this position focuses mostly on developing and managing programs offered by TRAILS in furtherance of their mission to broaden participation in the AI space. AIM’s immediate goals include developing and implementing wide ranging bachelor’s degrees (BA and BS) that deal with the development and implementation of AI in our society as well as promoting related interdisciplinary research and community outreach activities. Work related to AIM will develop, change, and increase over time, but right now, this position will be charged with ensuring that degree programs, student recruitment efforts, and seed award programs are developed with an eye toward casting a wide, inclusive, net.
