An Usher must represent the University of Notre Dame’s Core Values of Integrity, Accountability, Teamwork, Leadership in Mission and Leadership in Excellence. Candidate must have the ability and willingness to work any assignment. These assignments may include guest relations, greeting guests, helping guests locate their seats, ticket scanning, bag checks, security/access control, rule enforcement or virtually any task to help the event run smoothly. Provide general information about Notre Dame facilities. Monitor physical surroundings in assigned area prior to and throughout event for safety, cleanliness and functionality. Respond quickly and courteously to guests needs, questions, comments or concerns with and /or actions. At event end, walk through assigned area and clear the venue. Enforce policies regarding seating, and other rules and regulations, informs management of any guest assistance needs. Assist in emergency situations and seating for guests with special needs.

The Ushers provide comprehensive guest services support for Athletic Department, University and External Events held on the Notre Dame campus with a focus on safety, operational effectiveness, and hospitality. The Usher Program seeks to set the industry standard for guest services.

Minimum Qualifications

Must understand and adhere to established University of Notre Dame’s policies and procedures and have a neat and professional appearance. Candidate must possess a pleasant disposition and strive for excellent customer service. Great interpersonal skills are critical, must be able to stand for long periods of time, be able to lift, reach and bend. May be required to be outdoors during inclement weather. Candidate must be able to read and decipher small print on tickets and must be able to think on their feet.
