This is a full-time, exempt, on-site role with compensation ranging from $75,000 to $100,000 per year, depending on experience.

Vogel is a well-established nonprofit organization located in Dallas with a history spanning over 36 years. Our core mission is centered around providing exceptional care and early childhood education for young children from homeless and domestic abuse shelters, all within our NAEYC accredited child care facility. Our innovative approach works to support both children and their parents through a two-generation strategy, offering resources that set families on a path toward a brighter future.

What you’ll do
  • Supervise, develop, and evaluate the mental health department staff, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
  • Collaborate closely with various programming departments including Early Childhood Education, Family Support, Parent Opportunity Center, and Connections program.
  • Manage contracted services with clinicians and an adult psychiatric nurse practitioner within the mental health department.
  • Ensure the quality implementation of mental health programming for both children and adults, emphasizing evidence-based services.
  • Coordinate the referral process and timely assignment of referrals to clinicians.
  • Collect and report data for strategic outcomes and departmental requirements.
  • Collaborate on professional development training initiatives for teachers and staff, including trauma-informed care.
  • Oversee budget planning, financial policy compliance, and general financial oversight of the mental health department.
  • Maintain communication and cultivate collaborative relationships with affiliate agencies.
  • Actively contribute as a member of the Senior Management team, collaborating across departments.
  • Represent the organization within the community when required.
  • Manage quality assurance reviews of the mental health department.
  • Maintain and update the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for the department as needed.
  • Expand counseling internship opportunities within the mental health department.
What will make you successful in this role (skills)
  • Master’s degree in Counseling, Psychology, or related field; LPC or LPC-S licensure preferred.
  • Minimum five years of program management and staff supervision experience, with strong motivational skills.
  • Experience working with homeless families preferred.
  • Demonstrated excellence in written and verbal communication, professionalism, customer service, and teamwork.
  • Thorough understanding of mental health treatment modalities, evidence-based practices, and clinical treatment for children and adults.
  • Knowledgeable in federal, state, and local mental health regulations and compliance standards.
  • Proficient in electronic data management systems for evaluation and improvement purposes.
  • Strong organizational and computer skills.
  • Ability to strategically plan, implement, and innovate programming for homeless children and families.
  • Exceptional time management, attention to detail, multitasking, and prioritization abilities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proven track record in strategic planning, budget management, and hands-on leadership.
  • Self-disciplined, motivated, and goal-oriented, capable of working independently and collaboratively.
  • Ability to handle confidential matters with discretion.
  • Proficiency in MS Office programs.
  • Availability to work flexible hours as needed.
