Job Description
The Maine Business School (AACSB Accredited) at the University of Maine seeks applicants for a teaching faculty position at the rank of Lecturer in Marketing, with an anticipated start date of September 3, 2024. This will be a full-time, ongoing appointment, renewed annually based on satisfactory performance. The preferred candidate will have experience or interest in teaching foundational courses in Marketing, with secondary interests in Services Marketing, Digital Marketing, and other domains in the Marketing discipline.
The successful candidate will be expected to be an effective and engaging teacher, to collaborate with colleagues to improve student success, to make a strong commitment to collaborating in the development of innovative curricula, and to mentor undergraduates in pursuit of their academic and professional goals. The typical teaching load is four courses per semester at the undergraduate or graduate level. The candidate will be expected to participate in our maintenance of AACSB accreditation. Service to the School, University, and in the Community is expected.

Qualifications:
Required:
- Master’s degree in business or MBA
- 5 years of professional work experience as a marketer or in marketing roles in the industry.
Preferred:
- Demonstrated experience of effective in-person teaching in marketing at the collegiate level
- Demonstrated experience of effective online teaching in marketing at the collegiate level
- 8 or more years of professional experience as a marketer or in marketing roles in industry
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Professional certifications of value to the industry Documented participation in activities promoting inclusive excellence

The Maine Business School (umaine.edu/business) is an AACSB Accredited institution offering both BS and MBA degrees. We currently host seven undergraduate majors (Accounting, Business Administration, Business Information Systems – Security Management, Finance, Management, Marketing, and Sport Management) and two concentrations (Entrepreneurship and Innovation and International Business), as well as several minors. The Graduate School of Business offers an online MBA to most students, with evening courses available in Portland and Orono, as well as several concentrations and dual-degree options. The School currently has 32 full-time faculty members and enrolls approximately 1,250 undergraduate and 350 graduate students.
