Monterey Fuel Company, LLC is actively seeking a strong HR professional to support their people operations. We are a small hospitality brand with two FBO locations, Monterey Jet Center and Del Monte Aviation, which provide ground handling services for private aviation. Must have strong Human Resources Generalist work experience to lead company initiatives for recruiting, workforce planning, employee development, benefits administration, compensation, risk management, and HR strategy.
Monterey Fuel Company, LLC works within a highly regulated industry but still values the human side of business. This is a 5 day / week in-person position. Local candidates preferred who know the Monterey Peninsula hospitality industry.
Job Description
Execute all tasks related to the employee lifecycle from recruiting (about 15-20 roles per year), onboarding, performance management, development, training and transitions to exiting people from the company.
Be an employee advocate, leading employee relations activities, and providing support for any employee issues that may arise.
Partner with Accounting to ensure payroll time & attendance is accurate using the ADP system.
Act as the HR Subject Matter Expert to senior leadership, advising on best practices, and weighing in on key employment-related topics including workers compensation, compensation and benefits.
Be the champion for company culture ensuring it is well articulated and marketed to guide HR activities.
Position duties break down as follows:
80% Employee Lifecycle Activities (recruiting, onboarding, performance management, compensation, transition, development, terminations)
10% Legal Compliance & Training to ensure FAA-regulated audits are compliant.
5% HR Strategy aligning the department for success and meeting company goals.
5% Marketing HR initiatives to an employee base of approximately 50 people.
Qualifications
Ability to work in the company’s Monterey based office 5 days per week.
5+ years HR experience, local hospitality industry preferred.
PHR, SPHR, or SHRM certification desired.
Knowledge of pay practices for exempt and non-exempt employees.
Expert knowledge in HR compliance, CA State regulations, and recruitment strategies.
Collaborative work style.
Expert communicator with the expertise to frame ideas for different audiences.
Demonstrated track record of driving change.

Pay: $85,000.00 - $105,000.00 per year
