Summary of Position

Reporting to the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs and working in close collaboration with the Associate Dean for Research in the College of Health and Human Services, the Data Technician will be responsible for creating and maintaining college data and organizing and presenting data relevant to CHHS from a wide range of data sources. This role will support data accuracy, maintain key data files for accreditation and compliance, and generate reports as needed to support data-driven decision making and planning.

  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science, or related field.
  • 2-3 years of experience in data management, preferably in an educational or healthcare setting.
  • Strong proficiency with database management systems (e.g., SQL, Oracle) and data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, Tableau).
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Knowledge of student information systems (SIS) and familiarity with relevant privacy regulations (e.g., FERPA, HIPAA) is a plus.

  • Maintain and update student, faculty, staff, and research records in a coordinated college database system.
  • Ensure accuracy and completeness of college data.
  • Generate reports and analyze data as required by administrative staff, faculty, and college leadership.
  • Uphold data security and confidentiality standards in accordance with university and college policies and regulations.
