Sr Research Program Coordinator

Job Description

The Johns Hopkins School of Nursing is seeking a Sr. Research Program Coordinator to lead the operations of several research studies HRSA-BHWET program and PTSD screening protocol. The position will also support other related projects.


Under the direction and supervision of the Principal Investigators and Center director, the Sr. Research Program Coordinator will be primarily responsible for overseeing communication among team members, recruitment, data collection and monitoring, adherence to intervention protocols, day-to day study logistics, and managing Center activities and programs.


Ideal candidates are self-motivated, have strong verbal and written communication skills, excel in building relationships and partnerships with community stakeholders, have strong organizational skills with attention to detail and are able to handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines. Flexibility, organization and critical thinking skills are essential. Strong knowledge and skills in project management, mental health screening, risk assessment, and grant writing is preferred.


Specific Duties & Responsibilities

  • Under the supervision of the project PIs, the Sr. Research Coordinator’s responsibilities include but are not limited to,


Research and Center Project Management

  • Lead study meetings and provide update on recruitment, retention and data collection Manage agendas, note taking, and follow-ups for project-related and research group meetings and conference calls.
  • Supporting interdisciplinary team members (clinician interventionists, recruiters, PIs as needed).
  • Assist with drafting and monitoring of IRB protocols for patient-partnered research.
  • Partners with study PIs and investigative team in the overall planning for the research team.
  • Facilitates communication between research team, healthcare leadership teams at participating health systems, office staff, intervention and other research staff, and sponsoring agencies.
  • Proactively anticipate study needs, identify potential challenges and solutions, with active and timely communication to internal project leadership.
  • Center for Equity in Aging.
    • Manage tracking for reporting.
    • Help develop and manage relevant focus area activities and programs that are developed as aligned with assigned grant goals.
    • Study startup support to research assistants.
  • Manage 2+ research assistants, assigning weekly tasks and checking in as needed.
  • Follow up with participants as necessary.


Data Acquisition & Analysis

  • Input records and data management in systems such as Excel, Qualtrics, REDCap, Access, or similar system.
  • Under supervision of the PIs and investigative team, drafts sections of the study protocols; Drafts and finalizes consent forms for research participants with guidance from the investigative team; oversees survey administration.
  • Manage Qualtrics, and/or REDCap database, including design, data entry and quality control.
  • Prepare summaries in varying visual and narrative formats.
  • Oversee study data collection efforts.
  • Develops the structure of tables for data entry and display.
  • Synthesizes and edits research findings and technical data.
  • Reviews the statistical output and writes summaries of the output to integrate into the final results section of each report/manuscript.
  • Assist with data analysis.
    • Design and implement procedural adjustments to increase accuracy and efficiency of data collection and entry process.
    • May be involved in some basic data analysis.
    • Assist with preparation of data for reports and presentations Prepare/contribute to dissemination materials for diverse audiences (reports, publications, project summaries and grant proposals, etc.).

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in related discipline.
  • Three years related experience.
  • Additional education may substitute for required experience, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.


Preferred Qualifications
  • Some relevant experience or interest related to current research projects: mental health, screening protocols and educational curriculum.
  • Experience with Grant writing and submission.
  • Experience with database management (REDCap or equivalent).
  • Experience with human-centered design, community-based research, or community engagement.
  • Master's Degree in Nursing or health-related field preferred.

Role/Level/Range: ACRP/03/MB  
Starting Salary Range: $21.17 - $37.07 HRLY ($72,300 targeted; Commensurate with experience) 
Employee group: Casual / On Call 
Schedule: Monday - Friday up to 20 hours per week (may include weekends) 
Exempt Status: Exempt
