Status: Full-time/Regular
Salary: $47,701 - $77,817 DOE
SUMMARY:
Tohono O’odham Community College is seeking a qualified and passionate Accounting Instructor to join our dynamic faculty team in the Education Department. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, a commitment to student success, and the ability to create an engaging learning environment. This is a full-time faculty position with responsibilities including course instruction in person, online, and through video conference (Zoom), curriculum development, student mentoring, and active participation in college activities. Participation in the faculty senate and committee work is required. Assignments may include evening and weekend classes in any of the mentioned modalities. ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Develop and deliver high-quality lectures, presentations, and practical exercises in accounting courses.
- Foster an inclusive and interactive learning environment that encourages student participation and critical thinking.
- Contribute to the development to a Bachelor’s Degree in Business, enhance the accounting curriculum, and ensure alignment with industry standards and educational goals.
- Design and administer fair and comprehensive assessments to evaluate student understanding and progress by providing constructive feedback to students to encourage continuous improvement and academic success.
- Serve as an academic advisor to students, offering guidance on academic and career-related matters.
- Teach 15 semester hour credits each semester.
- Maintain currency in industry trends, accounting standards, and educational best practices.
- Facilitate study sessions, workshops and advising meetings with students to include conducting office hours.
- Participate in meetings, committees, and in other college and community activities.
- Prepare and submit timely grade reports on student performance as scheduled or required.
- Participate in workshops, conferences, and training sessions to enhance teaching skills and knowledge.
- Perform other related duties.
