Software Engineer Intern - Undergraduate

About the Team:

As aSoftware Engineer Intern on the "Offer Prefer Payments" team, you'll have the opportunity to make meaningful contributions by developing high-throughput backend services or improving the front-end experience for our web and console platforms. Your work will help enable new payment methods for PlayStation customers. Collaboration is key, both within your team and across the organization. With a variety of projects within the group, innovation and ownership are highly valued and encouraged.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Participate in feature analysis and produce detailed design and development documentation
  • Develop business software using Java/J2EE and Spring Boot REST web services, or work with client-side technologies like React, JavaScript, and Node.js
  • Build software applications using AWS services
  • Ensure software quality through testing methodologies, including unit, regression, performance, and resiliency testing
  • Follow best practices in software development, including adhering to coding standards, conducting code reviews, and optimizing build processes and operations

What We're Looking For:

  • Currently enrolled in an accredited university, pursuing a Bachelor's degree
  • Projected to graduate by Spring 2026
  • A strong desire to learn and grow within the team, with a sense of accountability and innovation
  • Familiarity with tools such as IntelliJ IDE, AWS Console, Jira, Jenkins, Aloy, Splunk/Datadog, and Git, or experience with JavaScript, Node.js, React, and console development
  • Strong programming skills, whether in front-end or back-end development
  • Excellent work ethic, communication, and collaboration skills

Eligibility:

  • Able to work during one of the following periods: May 19th - August 8th or June 16th - September 5th.
  • Must be available for the entire 12-week internship period.
  • Open to students who are U.S. citizens or international students with an F-1 visa.
  • Relocation assistance is available for eligible candidates.

Our intern positions offer a fixed hourly pay rate. Please note that the pay rate is exclusive to the internship period and may not reflect what pay may look like following the completion of an internship

At SIE, we consider several factors when setting each role's base pay range, including the competitive benchmarking data for the market and geographic location.

Please note that the base pay range may vary in line with our hybrid working policy and individual base pay will be determined based on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location.

$41.50$50 USD
