Academic Counselor
Job Description
Black River Technical College is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Academic Counselor. This is a full-time, twelve-month position. The Academic Counselor reports to the Director of Admissions and an integral part of the Division of Student Affairs.
The Academic Counselor will provide academic advising, basic financial aid information, process admissions documents and serves as a liaison between students and various BRTC departments.
The Academic Counselor will be located on the BRTC Paragould Campus and will report to the Director of Admissions. The Academic Counselor is responsible for new student admissions functions and will assist with academic and career advising, application processing, registration, special events and retention functions to ensure student success. The Academic Counselor will jointly oversee the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act program (WIOA) for BRTC and assist with ADA accommodations and Veterans Affairs on the Paragould Campus. In addition to the academic counselor duties, this position will be cross-trained in basic Registrar processes and serve as one of the Office of the Registrar representatives on the Paragould Campus.

Minimum Qualifications
The formal education equivalent of a Baccalaureate degree is required. Preferred - 1-3 years of experience in Academic Counseling or Advising or other Student Academic Success. Other job-related education and/or experience may be substituted for all or part of these basic requirements.
