Kennedy Jenks is seeking a Scientist with Risk Assessment experience to join our Remediation and Compliance group to support multidisciplinary client teams in delivering projects focused on environmental investigation and remediation, natural resource management, risk assessment, and compliance under various state and federal regulations/programs.In this position, you will be working with an environmental team consisting of scientists and engineers solving complex environmental problems. This role is ideally based out of our Princeton, New Jersey location but has the potential to sit in any KJ location.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with a team of engineers and scientists to ensure delivery of accurate and timely work for clients and projects across the country
  • Interact with clients, regulatory agency representatives, and other stakeholders
  • Analyze and interpret data in support of human health and ecological risk assessment
  • Evaluate and present environmental data in visual and written media
  • Prepare environmental work plans and reports communicating objectives, methodologies, analyses, results, and recommendations
  • Field work including sampling, travel up to 30%
  • May work on multiple, unique assignments simultaneously using strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills

Qualifications:

  • BS (MS preferred) in Environmental Science, Biology, Toxicology, Chemistry, Environmental Engineering, or similar engineering field
  • 5+ years of experience in risk assessment (or masters level education) and 10+ years of experience in environmental consulting preferred
  • Understanding and appreciation for chemistry and Toxicology with strong quantitative skills
  • Knowledge and experience with EPA risk assessment process, guidance, methods, and tools used for CERCLA and RCRA, as well as guidance, methods, and tools for State site remediation programs
  • Efficiently present information, convey purpose of activities and conclusions, and think critically in response to questions from clients, regulators, colleagues, subcontractors, and other stakeholders.
  • Productive and comfortable working independently and in team environments
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Collaborative, team-oriented
  • Exposure to or experience in field sampling methods either through coursework and internship or on the job
  • 40-hour HAZWOPER certification preferred
  • Valid U.S driver's license with ability to travel as needed

Salary range for this position is anticipated to be $75,000 to $110,000, and may vary based upon education, experience, qualifications, licensure/certifications and geographic location.
