Responsibilities*
DFA Clinic Support - Assist in a wide variety of chairside procedures using fourhanded dentistry in our faculty practice orthodontics clinics, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday mornings. Assist and provide guidance to the providers with oral examinations and operative procedures. Work with and assist with dental procedures. Prepare and position patients for treatment. Set up prior to treatment and anticipate provider's needs for each procedure during treatment. Take digital radiographs, according to standard procedures or specific instructions. Maintain cubicle stock of dental supplies along with dental suction lines and traps. Prepare instruments for sterilization. Prepare instruments, materials and work surfaces for use by the providers. Follow current infection control standards pertaining to OSHA and HIPAA guidelines. Perform any other related duties as assigned by faculty provider.
Graduate Clinic Support -Assist the graduate residents in a wide variety of chairside procedures in the afternoons and on Fridays. Assist and provide guidance to the providers with orthodontic dental procedures. Take digital radiographs, according to standard procedures or specific instructions as needed. Maintain cubicle stock of dental supplies along with dental suction lines and traps. Prepare instruments for sterilization. Prepare instruments, materials and work surfaces for use by the providers. Follow current infection control standards pertaining to OSHA and HIPAA guidelines.
Predoctoral Clinic Support - Assist the predoc students in a wide variety of chairside procedures. Assist and provide guidance to the providers with oral examinations. Set up prior to treatment. Assure all stations are stocked and maintained during rotations with postdoctoral dental supplies and PPE. Prepare instruments for sterilization.
Required Qualifications*
Certification as a Registered Dental Assistant (RDA). Certificate of completion from an accredited dental assisting program. Must be CPR certified. Dental Radiology Certificate. Knowledge of HIPAA, OSHA standards, and aseptic techniques. Knowledge of dental clinic practices and procedures. Knowledge of orthodontic dental procedures. Excellent communication skills and attendance record. Ability to multitask and have attention to detail. Willingness to work as a team player for the delivery of excellent patient care.
Desired Qualifications*
CDA. Experience working within a dental health care setting. Knowledge of orthodontic dental procedures. Experience with School of Dentistry policies and MiDent software.
Work Schedule
Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm
Work Locations
This position is for the School of Dentistry located at 1011 N University.

Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED. 2 years of dental experience or education equivalent. Current BLS. Dental Radiology Certificate. Knowledge of HIPAA, OSHA standards, and aseptic techniques. Reasonable knowledge of dental clinic practices and procedures. Excellent communication skills and attendance record. Ability to multi-task and have attention to detail. Willingness to work as a team player for the delivery of excellent patient care.
Desired Qualifications for the job: Dental assisting experience and a CDA. Experience working within a dental health care setting. Knowledge of orthodontic dental procedures. Experience with School of Dentistry policies and MiDent software.
The posting range for the intermediate level is $44,000-$50,000
