Internship - Supplier Quality Engineer
Job Description
Introduction to the jobASML is looking for Supplier Quality Engineers (SQE) with experience in mechanical, optics or electronics who can take a pivotal role as a linking pin between the ASML Development & Engineering teams and ASML's suppliers.
Role and responsibilities- Within ASML, this internship position is responsible for the planning, development, and delivery of integrated solutions that meet business requirements. This responsibility also includes the specification and trade-offs across sectors.
- Structural improvement to Supplier Quality Engineering tools and methods that are used to secure high quality products.
- Coordinating role with respect to all SQE activities and deliverables (incl. other Design and Engineering colleagues).
- Project planning, actions, accountability for all phases of the project... Requirements through implementation.
Bachelor or Masters degree in industrial Engineering, optics, mechatronics, electronics or related.
SkillsDemonstrate ability to analyze and resolve complex problems
Proficiency in analyzing quality data, using tools like Excel, MInitab or statistical software to assess trends, defects, and process performance
Root Cause Analysis: Ability to identify, analyze, and solve quality issues using techniques like the 5 Whys or fishbone diagrams
Lean Six Sigma/Continuous Improvement: An understanding of Lean and Six Sigma principles.

- This position is located on-site in San Diego, CA . It requires onsite presence to attend in-person work-related events, trainings and meetings and to further ensure teamwork, collaboration and innovation.
- Routinely required to sit; walk; talk; hear; use hands to keyboard, finger, handle, and feel; stoop, kneel, crouch, twist, reach, and stretch. Occasionally required to move around the campus.
- Occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
- Must be willing to work in a clean room environment, wearing coveralls, hoods, booties, safety glasses and gloves for entire duration of shift.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee routinely is required to sit; walk; talk; hear; use hands to keyboard, finger, handle, and feel; stoop, kneel, crouch, twist, reach, and stretch.
