As the Senior Operations Director, you'll be responsible at division level for directing the Deposit Operations functions and supporting the division leader in executing the Bank's Operations strategy. You'll provide the leadership needed to drive performance of service level standards, risk management and regulatory compliance, audit soundness, as well as function productivity and efficiency. One of your key responsibilities is to oversee policy, procedures, and practices development, and work closely with 2nd and 3rd line of defense partners to establish appropriate and reasonable controls. Your group's scope of responsibilities include - but aren't limited to - general banking operations, escrow account servicing, exception processing, ICS and CDARS account servicing, quality control, and account analysis management. IOLTA portfolio management, new accounts, and general deposit banking services.What we are looking for:
Responsible for supporting the division leader in executing the division's strategic plan, with specific focus of leading the efforts to develop and operate and effective and efficient Deposit Operations group. They are measured on their leadership in developing and supporting service level standard performance, as well as their group's success in meeting those performance objectives, overcoming obstacles and operational challenges.
Leads the effort on general process improvement, and the planning to have adequate capacity to handle organic growth and companies or portfolios acquired via merger or acquisition. Directs the development of new and revised procedures that relate to operational processes, reconciliations, etc. Oversees quality assurance and designs processes that comply with applicable regulations and standards and is responsible for ensuring controls are in place and functioning effectively. Serves as the liaison to the Risk team regarding operational functions for the division. Works in tandem with the Director of Product and Technology on product development and technological evolution.
Responsible for developing operational budgets, customer pricing models, forecasts, reconciliation of expenditures, and directing the allocation of resources, exploring, and authorizing new initiatives, and facilitating the project management process. Responsible for the design and distribution of regular and ad hoc management reports, as well as responses to regulator and audit inquiries.
Fosters strong, healthy working relationships with executive and senior leaders in partner departments (including Treasury Management Sales & Service, Lending & Deposit Sales, Credit Administration, Risk Management/Compliance, and other internal support departments, and third-party services), and facilitates team's contribution to and compliance with technical processes and requirements, risk mitigation, efficiency, and customer service.
Leads and develops a team; responsible for hiring, coaching, performance management, training, and development.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree required, Graduate degree or training preferred plus 15 or more years of directly related experience in Branch Banking Operations.
Advanced to expert knowledge of general banking operations, including deposit operations, treasury management and/or other commercial banking products and services.
Expert knowledge of applicable regulatory and legal compliance obligations, rules and regulations, industry standards and practices.
Expert knowledge of deposit operations activities, including item processing, exception processing, account analysis, and familiarity with compliance obligations and industry best practices.
Strong speaking and writing skills for internal and external audiences.
A minimum of 5 years previous leadership experience required.
May require travel.
