KPMG is currently seeking a Manager, Environmental and Geoscience Subject Matter Specialist to join our Audit practice.
- Evaluate and provide advice and conclusions on issues related to the science/engineering and regulatory aspects of client environmental liabilities and asset retirement obligations
- Work with the client to coordinate information requests, timing of site tours and/or interviews and discussions
- Review available information for specific locations selected for assessment including proposed remediation technology, regulatory directives and estimated costs for the proposed remediation effort
- Collaborate with engagement team manager and/or Partner to plan budget, timing and deliverables for engagement
- Review regulatory authority databases to determine completeness of client provided scope of activity for each location
- Provide ongoing support to engagement teams as requested throughout the engagement, often conferring with managers and partners about specific issues or questions
- Minimum ten years of recent work experience in environmental remediation/reclamation specific to soil and groundwater issues with knowledge of air pollution issues, which should include site assessments, feasibility studies, remediation technologies and implementation and remediation closure
- Bachelor's degree and/or preferably advanced degree from an accredited college/university, in science or engineering related to environmental and geoscience issues; licensed as a Professional Geologist or Professional Engineer preferred
- Proven experience in environmental remediation related to chemical manufacturing, mine closure and reclamation, electric power and oil and gas production-refining-retail; knowledge of the governing regulations associated with federal and state oversight of environmental impacts and remediation
- Experienced in developing environmental remediation cost estimates and knowledge of cost estimating resources including RS Means and RACER; experience with both commercial and federal environmental remediation
- Ability to communicate clearly both written and verbally
- Extensive travel may be required (300CAS)
