Responsibilities and Duties
- Duties vary but may include any or all of these:
- Attending (auditing) 1 or more classes alongside a student
- Tutoring the student before or after class
- Assisting with assignments
- Accompanying student to on-campus activities or events
- Working with the student on community-based activities.
Reports to: Instructional Specialist, Adults with Disabilities
Qualifications
Required: The Educational Aide must be a currently enrolled Santa Fe College student, in good academic and behavioral standing, taking six (6) or more credit hours. Seeking only very motivated, highly responsible, and extremely capable applicants for this great opportunity. One to two interviews and three references will be required.
Other Requirements: A criminal background check will be conducted.
Preferred: Experience as a teacher/tutor or with persons with disabilities is very helpful.
General Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Ability to work successfully in a multi-cultural environment.
- Customer Service - ability to respond promptly and courteously to all questions from students and faculty, demonstrating patience and persistence when helping students with little or no computer skills.
- Ethics - able to demonstrate integrity, professionalism, civility, and a high degree of ethics in all job-related actions
