General Function

*Grant Funded Anticipated End Date 1/1/2026*

Plan and organize the instructional activities of an assigned program area within Corporate and Continuing Education or a non-curriculum program and interface with external partners to determine training needs and appropriate instructional delivery.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Plans the course content including learning objectives, learning activities, materials and related technologies.
    2. Designs modules within the course, including justification for training methodology and selection of media or technology.
    3. Designs course materials including definition of training objectives and mastery tests.
    4. Assists in the process of course material production and developmental testing.
    5. Performs other duties as assigned.

 

Minimum Requirements and Preferred Qualifications

  • Veterinary Assistant – minimum 2 years work experience
  • High School diploma or equivalent

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Approved Veterinary Assistant (AVA) Certification
  • Experience teaching in a community college 
  • Ability to develop and offer courses online or through distance learning technologies

Working Days: Monday - Friday

Working Conditions:
Typical classroom or training environment; sedentary work requiring the exertion of up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to move objects; work requires fingering, grasping, and repetitive keyboarding motions; vocal communications is required for expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word; hearing is required to perceive information at normal spoken word levels; visual acuity is required for preparing and analyzing written or computer data, determining the accuracy and thoroughness of work, and observing general surroundings and activities; no adverse environmental conditions; infrequently traveling between buildings on campus, to other campuses, or locally.
