Class Description

The purpose of this class is to provide high-quality, ongoing professional learning for the CCBC organization. This position directs the activities of the Center for Professional and Organizational Learning and oversees college-wide professional development efforts in teaching and learning. 

Compensation within the above posted range is determined by a candidate's education level and/or years of experience in the field.  Generally, employees are hired in the lower third of the scale.  


Minimum Requirements

Master’s degree in education, higher education leadership, psychology or a related field required. A minimum of six (6)years of experience in higher education in a faculty role, with three (3) years professional learning/faculty development required. Of the six years of experience, three of those years must include supervision of other faculty/staff. Demonstrated understanding of experience with evidence-based practices in post-secondary education that promote student success and equity. Experience overseeing and/or managing diverse projects, such as the design and implementation of professional development activities that support student success.

Class Specific Essential Duties

  1. Establish the vision, strategy, and priorities for the Center for Professional and Organizational Learning of the Institute of Transformative Teaching, Learning and Leadership. 
  2. Lead the professional learning work of the college, including college-wide events such as Fall Focus, Teaching Learning Fair, Winter Adjunct Conference and Adjunct Awards ceremonies. 
  3. Manage budget and personnel resources of the Center for Professional and Organizational Learning in collaboration with other leaders in the Institute for Transformative Teaching, Learning and Leadership. 
  4. Oversee and lead the work of onboarding new full-time and adjunct faculty in New Faculty Learning Community and Adjunct Faculty Orientation. 
  5. Support projects such as the production of the peer-reviewed journal TALES from CCBC. 
  6. Facilitate the work of the Teaching Learning Roundtable. 
  7. Oversee the collaboration and cross-pollination of the other units in the Institute for Transformative Teaching, Learning & Leadership. 
  8. Engage in resource development (grants and awards) for ongoing and new initiatives.
