VISION AND MISSION:Our vision is to help close educational opportunity gaps by increasing access to high-quality, evidence-based learning and enrichment programs for children at no cost to their families. Our mission is to serve children, tutors, teachers, administrators, our community, and the field of education through three major aims: (1) directly providing evidence-based tutoring and assessment for children in grades PK-8, with priority for children who do not typically have access to private tutoring; (2) serving as a nationally-recognized, open-access hub for tutor training, instructional coaching, tutoring curricula and assessments, and collaborative design communities for tutors; and (3) innovating tutoring programs and practices and contributing to high-quality, open science through the development, improvement, sharing, replication, and scaling of effective tutoring programs and practices.
POSITION OVERVIEW:Early Childhood Intervention Specialists will work three days a week with other intervention specialists and tutors to travel to local schools to work with students aged PK-5 on structured literacy and math tasks. The person in this position will learn how to administer the scripted interventions and will need to pass necessary background checks before being approved to work with the children.

Minimum Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:Must have strong communication skills and experience working with children (experience gained as a parent, guardian, nanny, or babysitter will be considered); the person will need to travel to local schools but a carpool will be available; must have a “can do” attitude; must be available to work for a few hours during the school day Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and/or Fridays.
Preferred Qualifications
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Prior experience working with children in a teaching, tutoring, or learning setting; lived experiences similar to those of the children we serve in South Bend; experience working with children from diverse racial, ethnic, linguistic, and socioeconomic backgrounds; must be comfortable working in a school setting; must be highly organized with good attention to detail; must be comfortable with technology like computers and iPads.
