Adjunct Teacher Education faculty are needed to teach classes at the Community College of Baltimore County in Child Care Provider/Preparation for Maryland Credentialing. Classes may include in-person during the day, remote synchronously in the evening, and 100% online through CCBC’s learning management system.
Adjunct faculty are expected to prepare and deliver instruction, monitor student progress, cooperate with college support staff, and participate in required trainings and meetings. Adjunct Faculty are selected based on the needs of the program, applicant proficiency, course availability, and student enrollment.

Locations: Essex, Dundalk & CatonsvilleLevel 1 - $1,050 per credit hour
Minimum Requirements
- Master’s degree in education-related field required.
- Five (5) years of teaching experience in licensed childcare and/or pk-5 setting required; college teaching experience preferred.
- Expert knowledge of Maryland childcare regulations required. Working knowledge of the Maryland childcare credential program preferred.
- Successful completion of an MSDE/Office of Childcare-approved “train the trainer” session preferred.
- Proficient working with learning management systems.
- Proficient computer skills and Microsoft applications knowledge.
Class Specific Essential Duties
- Fulfill department and college responsibilities as directed by the department chairperson and/or coordinators.
- Use CCBC common course outline to develop course syllabus, prepare and deliver course instruction while adhering to college and department policies.
- Employ a variety of instructional strategies to meet the needs of a diverse student population.
- Utilize the CCBC learning management system.
- Monitor student participation and performance, evaluate student work, and provide timely feedback.
- Keep and submit accurate classroom records.
- Assure that evaluation methods are appropriate and effectively assess established course objectives in a consistent and equitable manner.
- Provide one office hour each week per class taught.
- Attend required training sessions, professional development, and departmental meetings.
- Abide by college-wide policies and procedures.
