As the Data Analyst, you will support Case Management and Social Work at both Scripps Mercy Hospital San Diego and Scripps Mercy Hospital Chula Vista to provide the best patient care for a safe, timely discharge by generating accurate and timely reports. This position is ideal for the candidate experienced in using reporting tools through Epic, Microsoft Power BI and Excel, as well as foundational knowledge in medical insurance.
Responsibilities include:
- Maintain department specific databases and ensures accuracy of data.
- Apply broad knowledge in providing data analytics services to clients.
- Gather operational data to examine past business performance.
- Identify data patterns & trends, and provide insights to enhance business decision making capability in business planning, process improvement, solution assessment etc.
- Recommend actions for future developments & strategic business opportunities, as well as enhancements to operational policies.
- May be involved in exploratory data analysis, confirmatory data analysis and/or qualitative analysis.
Required Education/Experience/Specialized Skills:
- Good critical thinking and analytical skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Understanding of database functionality with ability to translate customer requests into actionable reports.
Preferred Education/Experience/Specialized Skills/Certification:
- Experience with Epic BO Portal and Epic reporting workbench
- Experience with Microsoft Power BI Dashboards and Excel (reporting, graphs, pivot tables)
- Knowledge of medical insurance
