Peraton is seeking a O365 / Exchange Administrator to join our to join our team of qualified, and diverse individuals.
Must be local to San Diego, CA. Flexible for occasional telework.
Day to Day Roles and Responsibilties:
- Monitor and maintain the health and performance of Exchange Online environments.
- Manage user accounts, mailboxes, and permissions in Exchange Admin Center and Azure AD.
- Perform data collection from Exchange Online, SharePoint, and OneDrive for eDiscovery requests.
- Collaborate with legal teams to implement Litigation Holds and Legal Holds.
- Execute eDiscovery searches and generate reports using Microsoft 365 Security and Compliance Center.
- Investigate, preserve, recover, and analyze data from IT systems for compliance or legal purposes.
- Organize and prepare data sets for delivery while maintaining Chain-of-Custody practices.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to data collection, email delivery, and retention policies.
- Ensure proper functioning and security of messaging systems, including data storage and transfer.
- Communicate findings and technical support to legal and compliance stakeholders.
- Escalate unresolved technical issues to appropriate teams or vendors.
- Stay updated on data security, compliance, and privacy regulations.
- Conduct regular audits of system settings to ensure compliance standards are met.
- Assist with the implementation and testing of updates or new features in Microsoft 365 and Exchange.
- Document processes, findings, and reports for internal and external stakeholders.
Basic Qualifications:
- High school diploma with a minimum of 5 years of experience.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen.
- Proficiency in creating and managing Journaling Rules in Exchange Online.
- Understanding of the Electronic Discovery Reference Model (EDRM) and its application.
- In-depth knowledge of messaging systems, including how data is stored, transferred, and managed.
- Familiarity with and practical experience in eDiscovery Electronic Stored Information (ESI) processes.
- Skills to analyze complex eDiscovery requests and determine the most effective methods to fulfill them.
- Experience in data investigation, preservation, disposition, recovery, and analysis within IT systems.
- Ability to resolve or escalate technical issues encountered during data collection processes.
- Expertise in organizing and preparing data sets for delivery to stakeholders.
- Capability to manage multiple simultaneous cases in high-pressure, dynamic environments with shifting priorities.
- Experience collaborating with legal counsel and stakeholders regarding eDiscovery tools, techniques, and compliance.
- Comprehensive knowledge of Litigation Hold and Legal Hold processes, including implementation strategies.
- Understanding of Chain-of-Custody practices and their importance in compliance and eDiscovery.
- Proficiency in Microsoft 365 tools, including Security and Compliance Center, Exchange Admin Center, and Azure Active Directory (Azure AD).
- Strong attention to detail and excellent problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Hands-on experience in a similar role, particularly in eDiscovery, compliance, or Exchange administration.
- Educational or professional background in legal studies (e.g., paralegal certification or coursework in data privacy law).
- Certification as a Certified eDiscovery Specialist (CEDS) or equivalent credentials.
