The Program:
The Department of Occupational Therapy at Baylor University is home to a 2-year hybrid Entry-Level OTD program, a Post-Professional OTD program, and a Certificate in Hybrid Teaching and Learning for the Occupational Therapy Practitioner program. We are seeking an innovative faculty member to join our growing Department in meeting its mission to prepare practice scholars, educational innovators, and professional leaders who use clinically meaningful research to implement best practices to meet the changing demands of the Occupational Therapy profession.
The Department of Occupational Therapy is fully hybrid, with faculty, staff, and students who live across the United States. Faculty may live remotely but must be willing to travel to Waco, TX, for designated periods. Preference may be given to qualified applicants regionally local to Waco, TX.
The academic rank for this position will be at the Assistant Professor level, commensurate with experience and credentials.

Responsibilities:
The primary responsibilities of this position include,
- Teaching: provides student-centered learning through best practice teaching activities in a hybrid program.
- Scholarship: actively engages in scholarship to advance knowledge.
- Service: supports shared governance and promotes the occupational therapy profession.
- Professionalism: adheres to the Occupational Therapy Code of Ethics and commits to building a more inclusive profession strengthened by the diversity and engagement of practitioners equipped to address clients of all backgrounds and identities.
This faculty position has teaching, scholarship, advisement, and service responsibilities. It requires significant contact with students, outside constituents, professional consortiums, and faculty. Residence in Waco is not a requirement, but travel is an expectation and requirement of this position, including teaching responsibilities during on-site lab immersions.

The budgeted salary range the University reasonably expects to pay for this position is $90,000.00 - $95,000.00. This range takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including, but not limited to, experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certification, analysis of internal equity, and other business and organizational needs.

Qualifications
Qualifications:
- Occupational therapy license or eligible for licensure in Texas.
- A doctoral degree awarded by an accredited USDE-recognized regional accrediting body.
- Minimum of 2 years experience as an Occupational Therapy practitioner and one year experience in a full-time academic appointment.
- Commitment to excellence in teaching and scholarship.
Preferred Qualifications: All the above, plus
- A terminal academic doctorate (PhD, EdD, ScD, Post-professional OTD);
- Three years of experience in a full-time academic appointment with teaching responsibilities at the post-secondary level;
- Evidence of expertise in teaching assignments, including scholarship;
- Two years of documented teaching in online and hybrid education environments;
- A documented record of scholarly activity.
